If you want to get married quickly, the fastest legal path is usually a paperwork-only marriage with the documents handled early.

The fastest ordinary path

For most couples, the quickest path is:

1. click the get married link and book
2. pay the fee
3. complete your NOIM as soon as possible
4. gather your ID and any supporting documents straight away
5. send the paperwork through
6. marry once the notice period has passed and a suitable appointment is available

The rule that matters most

The main timing rule is the one calendar month notice period.

In ordinary cases, your NOIM must be given at least one calendar month before the marriage date and no more than 18 months before it.

That means:

• booking alone does not lock in the legal date
• paying the fee does not replace the notice period
• the earlier the NOIM is sorted, the easier it is to move quickly

When is the date actually confirmed?

Can we get married in less than one month?

Sometimes, but only if a prescribed authority approves a shortening of time.
