Every legal marriage in Australia needs two witnesses aged 18 or over.

For many couples this is easy: a parent, a sibling, a friend. For others, especially couples keeping things private or travelling from overseas, finding two witnesses is the one practical problem left.

Add our witness service to any package and we will supply two adult witnesses for your Gold Coast ceremony. It is $130 inc GST, and you can add it when you book or later, subject to availability.

What a witness does

A witness must:

  • be 18 or older (or appear to be)
  • be present for the whole marriage
  • understand what they are witnessing
  • sign the marriage documents afterwards

When witness help is useful

  • you are keeping the marriage completely private
  • you are visiting from overseas with no local contacts
  • family or friends cannot make the date
  • you would simply rather have neutral witnesses
