Paperwork-Only Marriage Ceremony on the Gold Coast

If you want to get married without planning a wedding, a paperwork-only marriage is the simplest and cheapest legal option on the Gold Coast. It is $820 inc GST, and it is a real, legally binding Australian marriage.

On this site, paperwork-only means a short legal marriage with a private authorised celebrant: the required legal words, your legal vows, the signing, and the registration paperwork. It takes about ten minutes. That is it.

What the $820 includes

• booking and administration
• checks of your Notice of Intended Marriage and ID documents
• a private authorised marriage celebrant
• the legally required wording and your legal vows
• signing of the marriage documents and a ceremonial certificate
• lodging the registration with Queensland Births, Deaths and Marriages

What it does not include

Paperwork-only is deliberately bare. It is not built for:

• walking down an aisle
• a guest-focused ceremony
• personal vows and a custom script
• a wedding-day run sheet

If you want any of that, you do not need to go elsewhere:

• the elopement ceremony ($1,800) adds a personal ceremony written with you, your own vows, a ring exchange, and a location you choose
• the wedding ceremony ($2,200) is a fully custom ceremony led for all your guests

Both still include everything in paperwork-only.

What the process looks like

1. Book online and pay the fee
2. prepare your NOIM, for example with NOIM Easy, and have it witnessed by an authorised person
3. send the NOIM and your ID through
4. once we receive it and check availability, we confirm the date, time, and place
5. wait out the one calendar month notice period
6. attend your short legal marriage with two adult witnesses

Who it suits best

Paperwork-only is popular with couples who:

• want the legal part done properly and cheaply
• want to celebrate later, differently, or not at all
• are marrying for visa, housing, family, or admin reasons and want it simple
• would have booked the Brisbane Registry but would rather stay on the Gold Coast
• are having a friend lead a separate celebration or a destination wedding later
